Durango School District (DSD) and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) are pleased to celebrate National School Counseling Week, Feb. 3-7, 2025. This event focuses public attention on the valuable contributions made by our district's 14 school counselors and the work they do each and every day to support the success and well being of our students.
Rising ninth graders learn how they can explore interests, build life skills, and find their place at Durango High School
It was standing room only in the Durango High School (DHS) gym on Jan. 27, as more than 500 Eighth-Grade Parent Night attendees learned about the incredible array of courses, career pathways, clubs, activities, athletics, and friendships that DHS students enjoy.
Board adopts inclusive-symbols resolutions to support students and staff
At the Jan. 28 Regular Board Meeting held at the Impact Career Innovation Center, the Durango School District 9-R Board of Education voted unanimously to pass two resolutions affirming its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) for all students, staff, and community members.

Calling future Demons! Durango High School 8th-Grade Parent Night is Jan. 27
Durango High School is excited to host an 8th-Grade Parent Night on Monday, Jan. 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Early Access applications available Feb. 1
Durango School District has the opportunity to accelerate highly advanced gifted children under age 5 for kindergarten and/or under age 6 for first grade. This Early Access is for those eligible students if their birthdays fall after October 1. It is intended to support students who are evaluated to be exceptional in aptitude/cognitive reasoning, academics, school readiness, and motivation.
Durango School District immunization rates for 2023-24
To comply with Colorado law, Durango School District must share the immunization rates for all of our schools and preschools with parents and guardians.
Durango High School Student Council works to earn national recognition
