This year we’re also taking our produce on the road! Over the next month, the SOIL staff will be bringing samples of freshly harvested produce to share with students in schools across the entire school district during lunch. Keep an eye out for a SOIL sticker to come home and ask your student(s) which fruit or veggie they liked best!
While we have big plans for impacting students this year, we also want to celebrate the wonderful successes of our first year of operation. Last year, during our first growing season, we welcomed 1800 Durango 9R students into the garden for half-day field trips. We also donated over 1000 pounds of food to local food assistance sites. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of volunteers, donors, business sponsors, and partner organizations. Thank you for helping us to grow an inspired community!
