Fun middle school events will kick off the new year

Miller Grand Opening, Jan. 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

We have a new date set for this event, which was rescheduled from Oct. 25 due to a community tragedy. Staff and students have settled into the new building, and we're thrilled to welcome families and community members on this night. There will be student-led music, demos, a scavenger hunt with prizes, self-guided tour, ribbon-cutting, speakers, and cupcakes. Elementary families with fourth- or fifth-grade students (Animas Valley, Needham, and Riverview): This is a chance to see your future school and meet the school leadership. We hope to see you there!

Escalante Welcome Night, Jan. 15, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Last year's event was a big success. Families enjoyed roving the halls during a scavenger hunt with prizes. We will kick things off with refreshments and a short presentation, then families will be free to roam the halls, see a few classroom spaces such as the wood shop and indoor growing space, and meet some of our outstanding teachers. Upcoming students from Park, Fort Lewis Mesa, Florida Mesa, and Sunnyside: We can't wait to meet you!
