K-12 students invited to participate in STEM Exhibition

This event is hosted by the Durango High School Women in STEM Club and the Durango High School Aerospace Club. We invite students to dream big and create a project highlighting a design, product, or concept focused on innovation and the future. Whether it’s a new invention, an improvement on existing technology, or a completely original idea, we encourage you to think outside the box and bring your vision to life.

What to do:
  • Choose an idea that excites and inspires you – something that could make a difference in the future. Projects can be about any topic.
  • Design and build a physical or visual representation of your concept. This could be a tri-fold display, model, blueprint, or any creative way to showcase your idea.
  • Clearly illustrate what your idea is, its purpose, why you created it, and how it could impact the world.
  • You may create a project by yourself or as part of a small group.
Who can participate?
Durango School District K-12 students are welcome to create projects and will compete in separate categories based on their grade level. There is an elementary, middle, and high school category. Students also have the opportunity for one-on-one mentorship to help them throughout their project.

Awards and exhibition
  • All projects will be displayed and presented at the Vision for the Future STEM Exhibition on April 5, 5-7 p.m. at the Impact Career Innovation Center.
  • Projects will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the top project in each category. Winners will be recognized for their creativity, innovation, and presentation.
This is your chance to explore the possibilities of the future, showcase your creativity, and inspire others with your vision. Get ready to innovate, build, and bring your ideas to life.
